In this article, we will be examining the generalities and details of social media’s impact on your business and marketing. (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Telegram).
Why Social Media?
Perhaps this is slightly unrealistic, but the story of Social Media reminds me of a famous book by Mark Fisher titled “The instant millionaire: A tale of wisdom and wealth”. A book that tells the story of how a broke young man becomes a billionaire by an old man’s advice. You may be asking the question, ‘Can Social Media turn me into a millionaire in a single night?’ Well, my answer is in fact no, but it can help you to become a millionaire through a precise, effective strategy over the course of a year.
Read about the story of a man known as Nusret Salt Bae, through watching his videos on Instagram. Nowadays, his restaurants’ branches are spread from Turkey to Miami as well as Dubai to Saudi Arabia. Whenever I occasionally read his posts’ caption on Instagram, I enjoy his success. As you may or may not know, Nusrat is one of Instagram’s millionaires.
How did Social Media change our world?
Years ago, people couldn’t imagine that they would be able to make millions of dollars by creating social media and having a Facebook or Instagram page, but thanks to the progression of 2019, this is now commonplace.
No one, not even the founders of the Internet businesses had borne such a great thought in mind, and everything started from an idea. As a real example, if you want to advertise on a celebrity’s Instagram page for 24 hours, you have to pay between 10,000 and several million dollars. In return, the amount of feedback and investment you receive will depend on the age of your target audience, brand, and of course, the type of advertising you have.
Various types of social media ads
I don’t want to mention different kinds of social media advertising here! For example, it could be a photo, video or text, as this is a part of the marketing process and varies depending on your business. However, the most important thing I want to point out is that you must have a philosophy, scenario or at least an amazing story for each advertisement in order to raise the customer’s feelings and thoughts. What is your company’s slogan? Did you include it in your advertising, or is the purpose of your advertising only to show one specific product with its specific application? What is important, is the philosophy of your business and advertising.
The power of social media
Until a few years ago, TV was the most significant and powerful form of media to attract an audience, but now everything has changed and every page of Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat are much more effective than a television or radio network.
These days, every celebrity’s page has turned into a medium that is 100 times more impressive than a television channel. They just offer product endorsements! After 24 hours, a bankrupt business can become a very successful one.
What do statistics tell us about social media?
Just take a quick look at the statistics of social media users. These statistics are exceptionally interesting, and as a businessman or entrepreneur, you will be tempted to start working with one of these social networks as soon as possible.
- There are 3.03 billion social media users.
- The average daily usage on social media is 116 minutes
- 91% Of retail brands use 2 or more social media channels.

Who is my target on social media?
Before you create an account on Instagram and Facebook or other social media channels, please answer these questions:
- What is the average age of my audience?
- What are their hobbies and interests?
- In what fields do they work?
- What is their average income?
- Where do they live?
For example, if your product and business audience is between the ages of 15 and 20, Snapchat and Instagram are surely better than Facebook and Pinterest.
Which social media channel is best for my business?
In the previous section, I raised some important questions.
Choose one or two available channels based on the existing data and start small activities with a very clever and accurate strategy! You should not expect to get a good sale or a high number of followers with a weekly post on your social media page. The quality of your posts, the type of format and the time you upload them are very important.
